RFID will Be Installed on 13 Garbage Carrier Vessels

Seribu Islands Environment Sub-dept. Is looking to install Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) as a tool for measuring subsidized fuel (BBM) of garbage carrier vessels.

Through RFID, transparent system will be realized

Seribu Islands Environment Sub-dept. Head, Yusen Hardiman said RFID has been applied on dump truck in Jakarta. Thus the need for fuel for transport vehicles can be known.

"Through RFID, transparent system will be realized. From Muara Angke to Pramuka Island for instance, it can be known how much fuel needs to get there," he expressed, Tuesday (2/13).

His sub-dept. has also made a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Pertamina. He also plans to cooperate with the Syahbandar party to know how far the distance between island to island.

"There are 13 vessels. Our target is to finish installation of RFID by the end of this year," he said.
